Mark Cuban wants Clippers owner punished, but removal "slippery slope"

(Dallas, TX)  --  Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban wants to see L.A. Clippers owner Donald Sterling punished, but isn't willing to back removing him from ownership. Cuban told reporters Monday people have to be "very careful" when they start making blanket statements about what people say and think. Cuban questioned whether the league would start removing people for homophobia, xenophobia, anti-semitism or disliking a particular religion, if they decide to kick Sterling out.

Still, he says there is no excuse to support racism.  What Cuban does support is the maximum fine against Sterling and says he trusts NBA Commissioner Adam Silver will do what is best for the NBA. Sterling is accused of making racist remarks to his girlfriend in a tape which was released to TMZ. Silver is set to address the matter in a 2 pm Eastern time press conference
