Amanda Knox found guilty in third trial over murder

(Florence, Italy)  --  Amanda Knox is guilty.  That's the verdict in the retrial of the American student in the murder of her British roommate in Italy in 2007.  She has been sentenced to 28 years, six months in jail.  However, she may not serve any time since she's currently in the United States due to her acquittal in 2011.  Italy doesn't have protections against double jeopardy like the U.S.

Knox and her Italian ex-boyfriend are convicted of stabbing Meredith Kercher to death in a sex game.  The international attention earned Knox the nickname "Foxy Knoxy."   Knox's defense team says there was only one murderer in the case, and that's Rudy Guede of Ivory Coast.  He's currently serving a 16-year sentence for stabbing Kercher.  However, it was ruled that he didn't act alone in the killing.
